It’s Wednesday!! Half way through the week, people. We can do this!

Welcome to this new post series called Eat This, Not That. Pretty simple, really. Here I’ll highlight some genius AIP compatible products that are clever substitutes for mainstream food choices.

I’m writing this for three major reasons…

The truth it, it’s HARD to be perfect at the Autoimmune Protocol (AIP) diet, especially when you’re used to the standard American diet. Cold turkey off convenience foods tends to be the worst.

For all you AIP newbies (like me!), it can be frustrating at first to learn about all the foods you *can’t* have. That feeling tends to be isolating. It would simplify things a lot to learn about AIP compatible substitutes for old favorites, right? It certainly would take the brain work, and well.. actual work, out of making everything from scratch.

Those of you who have major autoimmune diseases, who seek healing so passionately, may not find the transition into AIP as challenging because the remission you find is absolutely worth the struggle. But even for folks like you, who take to AIP like a fish to water, it’s still nice to know you have some healthy, perfectly compatible alternatives available to you.

So let’s get started. This week is all about CHIPS! ♥

First up is the Grain Free Paleo Puffs by Lesser Evil. These have been spotted at Natural Grocers and are, according to their website, are available through Thrive Market, Vitacost and Amazon. However, I did a search and could only find them on Lucky VItamin and the Lesser Evil website HERE. The ingredients in these puffs are: organic cassava flour, organic coconut oil, tapioca starch, organic coconut flour, sweet potato flour and Himalayan salt. All of which are completely AIP compatible, even in the elimination phase. These puffs easy subs for Cheetos and Pirate’s Booty!

Next, the Artisan Tropic Cassava Strips, which are found HERE on Amazon and through ShopAIP, among many other retailers. The ingredients list on this product is much shorter than the puffs (cassava, non-hydrogenated palm oil and sea salt) and they’re still highly rated in the Paleo community. Word on the street is, the crunch is incredible! 😉 Swap this out with any brand of mainstream potato chip you’re craving.

Lastly, you’ll want to try Jackson’s Sweet Potato Chips instead of any other sweet potato chip out there because these contain only: non-GMO sweet potatoes, organic coconut oil and sea salt. Yum!
